SEO (search engine optimization) is process of improving the visibility of a website on organic search engine page results by implementing on page and off page methods or techniques. Google still considers quality content king so a well structured site with plenty of information like videos that show your products or services in action for vistors is recommended.

Determine your targeted keywords and research if they are highly competitive. If so, you might want to consider using long tail keywords which are less competitive and easier to rank for. Including your city and state with your tarted keywords is an example of long tail keywords.

  • Make your website mobile responsive - since 4/21/2015 Google will penalize your website on mobile searches if it's not mobile responsive
  • Implement social media widgets on your pages so anyone can share or follow your content
  • Include keywords in the image alt tag

  • Utilize social media marketing by writing articles related to your products or services with anchor text backlinks to different pages on your website giving them more page authority
  • Strive for dofollow backlinks from PR5 to PR9 sites and never use paid links or server farm links
  • Youtube videos now show up on Google searches so make sure to include your website URL in the first line of the Youtube description. Embedding these videos in your social media articles will give them more authority
  • Create a Google+ page for your business and request a verification post card for Google map listings
  • Comment on guest blogging sites and give links to your website/blog if it's related to your services or products and it's a high page authority blogging site
  • Use social bookmarking sites like delicious, digg, reddit etc. for sharing your content
  • Submit your blog links on blog directory sites
